"Nightfur! I don't think that I'm big enough to do that," whined Yellowpaw, his obnoxious apprentice. "Look are you guys gonna do it or not? I'm not gonna stand here all day to hear you whine." he snorted, looking in the direction of camp. Yellowpaw panicked for a moment, thinking that the training session would already be over. She darted to the tree and began climbing, as fast as she could. Her claws reached the top branch and she swung her body onto it and looked down.
Nightfur just wanted to see if she would do it; ShadowClan cats didn't even climb trees. It was quite impressive that she could climb that high, "Alright, climb down!" he called to the she-cat. She nodded her head in agreement and began pawing her way down. Suddenly she lost her grip and came falling, falling.
"Nightfur! Wake up," hissed Bluefur, hitting him in the head with sheathed claws. "You're twitching like a squirrel," he added grumpily. Nightfur drew in a deep breath. The snores of the other cats basically drowned out Bluefur's complaint. Did he really have to wake up right now? Yup. It was midnight, and the moon was bright and it was perfect for him to bring his new apprentice into the forest to train.
He was scared, and his dream just made his worries pester him even more. To be honest, he was scared he was going to make another apprentice severely injured, and then die. He just wanted to see how far Yellowpaw would go, and how much she wanted to train. He was sure he wouldn't get another apprentice, but then Leopardpaw came along. He hadn't spoken to her since they'd touched noses in the clan meeting. He was quite surprised when he was called up to mentor her. Dovestar seemed to have a lot of faith in him. Was she wrong?
He carefully picked his way through the pile of sleeping bodies. He tried not to step on anybody, but when he was near Bluefur he made sure to hit him on the head, just so he'd get mad. When he lifted his cranium, Nightfur dashed out of the den. There was a grin on his maw as he heard a complaint from Bluefur. He deserved it for waking Nightfur up. He twitched his audits, and breathed in the cold frosty air. It was just the beginning of new leaf. It was still going to be cold.
He was hoping Leopardpaw would be ready to come out and train. Well that wasn't really her choice, was it? He'd been woken up so many times as Nightpaw, now as Nightfur. Leopardpaw would have to live the same. He made his way to the apprentice's den. He wasn't sure what time it was, but he was sure the midnight patrol must've left. Good. He peeked his head into the apprentice's den, looking for Leopardpaw's spotted pelt. "Leopardpaw?" he called, trying to wake up the other apprentices in the process.

Leopardpaw went to her bed, she found her moss bed next to Coalpaw. She curled up in a ball, she looked out to see the moon rising. Let out a quick yawn before tucking her head under her paw, to cancelled out the moonlight that started to come through the den. He tail curled around her body, before she fell into a deep sleep. Soon the camp was quiet only the sound of snoring cats and a fews quick moving paws could be heard.
"Leopardpaw?"
She raised her head looking confused, who wanted her at this hour. She had only been a sleep for what seemed no more then a kittens step. She looked up to see the moon high in sky. Dazed and with her eyes half open, she turned to see her mentor standing in the entrance. She paused and look at her mentor before getting to her paws. ”What do you want at this time?” she hissed quietly to her mentor.
In anger her tail trashed back and forward. She flicked her tail and climbed over the sleep apprentices. ”This better be good” she hissed once out of ear range from the apprentice den. She looked at her mentor who stood in front of her, someone she should respect. But right now she just hated his guts for getting her up so early.
