it could be wrong, could be wrong, TO LET OUR HEARTS IGNITE The brittle midnight breezes whipped along the ginger and white she-cat. She was curled up into a tight ball, trying to ignore the thorns poking her skin. She didn't want to be a bother to the apprentices, maybe they'd just do it tomorrow. Fawnleap had been telling herself that for about five sunrises now. She forced her amber-green optics closed, trying to fall back asleep, but it just wasn't working. The ginger and white she-cat blinked at her clan mates, only visible with little light from the moon. She had to get out of that den. She pulled herself up, gingerly pawing over the sleeping bodies. "Who just stepped on my tail?" she heard from behind her. She clenched her teeth together, embarrassment prickling at her fur. With one final step she was out of there. She began to pad towards the entrance to camp. There was a cat on vigil, but he'd ben sleeping. She watched him for a few moments. "He's probably just resting his eyes.." She looked at him as she stepped around him, not wanting to disturb him. The smell of spring dew over the cold forest floor made her want to sleep right there, in the forest. She lightly stepped on the forest floor, tail billowing in the breeze. It was cold, but somewhat refreshing. She drew her tongue over her lips and spotted an owl that quickly fluttered away. Then, she turned around and headed back for camp. An idea had popped into her head, and she had to make it to Silentstar's den. He was an unusually quiet cat, much like her mentor, Brittletail. There was only one difference, Silentstar by choice and Brittletail by birth. They were basically the same case, though. She'd been nervous to egg on Silentstar for speaking, because she knew it was from stress and such. Yet, her first gathering was coming up and she knew she would have to speak in front of all of the clans for him. She began shaking to the thought of it and clenched her teeth together, attempting to make her body still. When she re-entered camp the guard had awaken and acknowledged her with a nervous dip of their head. She knew he feared she'd seen him, but she just pretended she didn't. She made her way straight towards the leader's den. She sat at the entrance, as she'd done so many times before. "Silentstar? May I please speak with you?" she questioned softly, trying not to wake up anybody in camp. Normally she'd be frightened that he was angry she'd waken him up, but this time she wasn't afraid. This time it was important. Though she still had nervous prickles at her heart, and a random shake here and there, she knew she could speak to him. |
